How the Coverfront works

One element, repeated. Everything below follows from that.

The element

Every Coverfront is built from a single element: 37 cm wide, 37.5 cm deep and one compartment high. Stack it up to five compartments to make a column, and put up to five columns side by side. That gives every size in the shop. The configurator goes further: different heights next to each other, or more than five columns.

One element, from a single compartment to a five-by-five wall. The figure is there for scale.

What a compartment does

One sleeve faces the room. Behind it, around 60 records stand upright and lean back, so you flip through them from the front the way you would in a record shop. A lip along the front holds the first sleeve in place, so nothing slides out.

The base

Every column stands on a closed base with a magnetic panel in front. Inside it, around 80 records fit spine-out, or your box sets. That is why one column, one compartment high, holds around 140 in total.

Size Records, about
1 column, 1 compartment high 140
1 column, 4 compartments high 320
3 columns, 4 compartments high 960
5 columns, 5 compartments high 1,900

Heights

A column is 89 cm high with one compartment and gets 40 cm taller with every compartment you add, up to 249 cm with five. One or two compartments high, at least two columns side by side, and the top is a stand for your turntable.

Getting it home

Your cabinet ships flat, one box per column, about 41 cm wide, so even a five-wide wall comes through a normal door. The longest box, for a column five compartments high, is about 2.5 m long, so measure tight turns in the stairs first. Shipping is one flat rate per order, whatever the size: €49 within the Netherlands, €89 to most of the EU, €149 to Cyprus and Malta. Everything ships tracked and insured.

Putting it together

Pre-drilled panels, numbered parts and all the hardware in one bag. Ordinary tools are enough: a drill-driver, two Allen keys, a spirit level and a tape measure. Reckon on one to two hours for an average arrangement. You build one column at a time and then join them. Four adjustable feet per column level it on an uneven floor. See the assembly steps, or watch the assembly video (made with an earlier version, so a few small details differ).

Growing

Collections grow. Order one or two columns now and add another later: it is the same element, so it lines up. A coupling wall joins two columns of different heights. The plinth along the bottom gets replaced by a longer one when you extend, so write to us before you order. Plan the height from the start: making a column taller later means replacing its side panels.

How long it takes

Birch plywood ships within 6 working weeks, spray-painted within 7. When the parts are in stock it is sooner: the product page shows the delivery time for the exact size and finish you pick.
