Who is responsible for your data
Ophon B.V., Arie van de Heuvelstraat 9, 3981 CT Bunnik, the Netherlands, Chamber of Commerce 42130829. We decide what happens with the personal data described here, and you can reach us about any of it at info@ophon.eu.
We are a small company. Nobody here is doing anything clever with your data; we use it to build and deliver your cabinet and to answer you when you write.
What we collect
When you order: your name, delivery and billing address, email address, and a phone number if you give one. Plus what you ordered, the amount, and the delivery details.
When you pay: the payment itself is handled by our payment provider. Your card details go to them directly and never reach us. We see that a payment succeeded, the method used, and the last digits.
When you write to us: whatever is in your message, and our reply.
When you sign up for the newsletter: your email address, and nothing else.
When you send us a photo of your cabinet: the photograph, and the fact that it came from you.
When you visit the shop: the technical data a website needs to work, and the shop platform's own statistics about pages viewed. What is stored on your device is set by the cookie banner and you can change it at any time.
We do not ask for anything we do not need, and there is no automated decision-making anywhere in this.
Why we are allowed to use it
To perform our contract with you: making, invoicing, shipping and supporting your order. Without these details there is no order.
Because the law requires it: invoices and order records have to be kept for the tax authorities.
Because we have a legitimate interest: keeping the shop secure, preventing fraud, and answering questions properly.
Because you gave permission: the newsletter, publishing your photo, and any cookie beyond the ones the shop needs to function. You can withdraw permission at any time, and that does not affect what happened before you did.
Who else sees it
Only the parties that have to, and only what they need:
- Shopify, which runs this shop and processes your order and payment.
- The workshop that makes your cabinet and packs your order. They see your name and delivery address, because that is what goes on the box.
- Sendcloud and the carrier that brings it, for the same reason.
- Moneybird and Schakel.app, for the invoice and the bookkeeping.
- Google Workspace, where our email and our order administration live.
They act on our instructions and may not use your data for their own purposes. Some of them process data outside the European Economic Area. Where that happens, we rely on the safeguards European law provides for it, such as an adequacy decision or the standard contractual clauses.
We have social media accounts, but we do not put customer data on them.
We do not sell your data, and we never will.
Advertising
We do not currently run advertising or third-party analytics on this site. There is no advertising tracker here. If that changes we will say so on this page, and we will ask for your permission before anything is placed on your device.
Photographs of your cabinet
Some of the photographs on this site were taken by the people who own the cabinets, and they are on Other people's rooms because they show a Coverfront in a real room rather than a studio. If one of them is yours and you would rather it was not there, write to info@ophon.eu and it comes down. No explanation needed, and we do not ask for one.
How long we keep it
Invoices and order records: seven years. That is a legal obligation and we cannot shorten it.
Correspondence: as long as it is useful to have the history, and then no longer.
Newsletter: until you unsubscribe, which you can do from every email we send.
Photographs: until you ask us to take yours down.
What you can ask us to do
You can ask to see what we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it, to limit what we do with it, to receive it in a portable form, and to object to us using it. You can withdraw permission you gave earlier.
Write to info@ophon.eu and you get a reply within two working days. We do not charge for this and we do not ask why.
If you think we are handling your data badly, please tell us first, because most of it we can simply fix. You also have the right to complain to the Dutch data protection authority, the Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens, or to the supervisory authority in the country you live in.
Changes to this page
If what we do with your data changes, this page changes with it, and the date below changes too.
